Established in 1958, The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination was set up by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate.
The Council was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in 1967. Every year, this council conducts the all India ICSE (Indian Certificate Secondary Examination) and the ISE (Indian School Certificate Examination) for standard tenth and standard twelfth respectively.
